The European Scout Federation (FSE) is a Scout organisation for males and females, composed of the following sections: Otters, Wolf Cubs, Scouts, Rovers and Rangers. Our organisation keeps to the traditional methods of scouting that the founder Robert Baden-Powell set out in "SCOUTING for BOYS".

The FSE is not in opposition or a rival to the other Scout organisations in Great Britain or Europe. It is a medium for those who prefer its methods. The Patrol system for example is used for its original purposes, to teach leadership, resourcefulness and obedience. We retain Baden-Powell's original progressive training system of Tenderfoot, Second class and First class.

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
The Group is an Authorised Duke of Edinburgh Award unit.  Scouts between the ages of 14 and 25 are invited to participate in the scheme.  The Award is offered at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, and complements Scouting activities by extending opportunities to undertake worthwhile leisure activities, voluntary service and challenging ventures.

The Wolf Cub Motto is "Do Your Best" (Dyb).
The Cubs learn the rudiments of Scouting, the Cub Law & Promise and the lessons of Kipling's
Jungle Book under the watchful eye of their Akela, usually assisted by some of the older scouts. Having passed the Tenderpad tests, the Cub is invested & joins his/her Six. The Wolf Cub is then ready to begin learning the skills that will lead to 1st & 2nd Stars and a wide variety of Proficiency Badges. In the Summer months, the Cubs enjoy Hikes, Canoeing & Camping. During the Winter, they practice their skills of Map Reading, Knots, First Aid, Nature Study, Games, Quizzes, etc.

Our Cubs meet every Weds. night. Contact John Chrisp for information.

SCOUTS (boys & girls) 11 years to 15 years

Harbour Watch meet Monday 7 - 9
Port & Starboard Watches meet Friday 7 - 9

Choose your night & come along! Scouts can be admitted at 11 years without first being Cubs. Our Scouts become very able in Canoeing & Boating skills as well as the usual land based activities such as Camping, First Aid, Map Reading & Hiking. In addition to their Summer Camp, where they enjoy sea based activities, there are frequent outings such as Karting, Rock Climbing, Bowling, etc.

Contact one of our Scout Masters for further information.

Rovers 16 years and above

The Rover motto is 'Service'. Rovers usually join from the ranks of the Scouts or from other groups & associations from the age of 16. A significant service is the care & maintenance of our ever increasing 'flotilla' of Canoes & Powerboats. Rovers frequently serve in a leadership role in the Cub & Scout packs and provide a number of services in the community. Meeting monthly, they also enjoy contact with other Rover Crews around the UK and abroad.
